Education and training are vital to every successful GIS implementation. The Northern Rockies Geospatial Training Center is dedicated to keeping workforce skills and knowledge up-to-date. People are the most important component in an organization's GIS. People must develop the procedures and define the task of the GIS. Every organization has a unique set of circumstances that define the needs of their GIS. As a result, the Northern Rockies Geospatial Training Center offers a variety of education solutions, including training on Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) GIS technology, Microsoft technology and Mobile GIS solutions featuring GPS technology, and remote sensing.

The Northern Rockies Geospatial Training Center understands that economic development and workforce development go hand-in-hand. With endorsement from the Montana Governors Office, the Northern Rockies Geospatial Training Center is a state-of-the-art training facility in the Montana Technology Enterprise Center to train the Montana 21st century high-tech workforce.
