Tracking Server 1.0:
This course provides instruction in both basic and advanced topics related to the Tracking Server software for real-time dissemination of geospatial data. Instruction is quick-paced, and oriented towards learning through hands-on exercises to be completed by the students. Topics covered include:
Software Usage
- Installation Requirements and Procedures
- Understanding Communications (Messages)
- Understanding High-Level Architecture
- Server Configuration
- Monitoring connections
- Creating Message Definitions and Tracking Services
- Using Data Links to enable messaging protocols
- Applying actions
Applying security
- Connecting to Tracking Server using Tracking Analyst
- Building a Tracking Viewer Web Application
Custom Client Development
- Using Java API to Connect to Tracking Server
- Using COM API to Connect to Tracking Server
- Customizing the Tracking Viewer Web Application
Custom Server-Side Development
- Writing custom Data Links to send and receive data using different protocols
- Writing custom Actions to execute analysis on real-time data
Pre-Requisites:
- Basic familiarity with: Client/Server architectures, ArcGIS, HTML, Java, JSP, XML, XSL, C++, COM, ATL, ArcObjects, Visual Basic, and the Visual Studio 6.0 development environment.
